Last week I had the pleasure of enjoying lunch at the Mandarin Oriental overlooking Central Park and the NYC skyline from a birds eye view. I was invited by the lovely ladies at White Good (You remember when I traveled with them to Seattle last Autumn for a regional food tour and culinary event with Miele, right?) to join them for lunch with Michele from MoD Design Guru and Rebecca from Rebecca Reynolds Design.
Our gracious host was Mark Rohl – the President of the Eastern Region at ROHL. We were also lucky to have designer Oliver Jörger in attendance all the way from Germany. He is the one responsible for creating the look of ROHL’s crowning jewel collection, ROHL | Jörger. Start to finish, we had a beautiful, delicious and informative lunch!
You may already know this, but ROHL has been responsible for bringing authentic luxury to both kitchens and baths in the United States since the early 1980’s. Truth be told, I feel like I’ve been aware of their products for most of my life. Heck, did you know the Apron Front Sink that I specified for The Country House is a Shaws Original Fireclay Sink available only through ROHL?
Long before this lunch was on the schedule, I found myself dream decorating the Super Pantry with a wall mounted traditional style faucet and hand sprayer. At the top of my wish list was this brass beauty from the ROHL Country Kitchen Collection. I loved having the opportunity to spend a few hours with this family run, Southern California business that is responsible for bringing this level of luxury product to the USA. (What a feeling it is to get to know a few faces behind the brand!)
When you visit the ROHL website, you’ll learn that they work alongside many small European family companies to bring these these unique brands to the United States under the ROHL umbrella. As these lunches go, the more I got to know the who that is behind the brand, the happier I was to have supported their mission in my own personal kitchen!
Our luncheon focused on ROHL’s ultra-luxurious, crowning jewel collection called ROHL | Jörger. I tell you what, these faucets and water fixtures are not for the feint of heart! As I mentioned above, this particular line (featured below) is designed by Oliver Jörger. His is family’s company was originally founded by his grandfather Bernhard Jörger, a master plumber to the court of the Grand Duke Friedrich II of Badenstarted. They’ve long had the tradition of designing water fixtures inspired by nature, architecture, and details from the world around them.
